Studying Sanskrit offers a portal into the rich literature of the Upanishads and other ancient Indian texts. We offer beginning, intermediate classes and advanced classes.  We present the material primarily through the chanting of verbs, nouns and verses, reinforcing the oral tradition that has preserved this great language for millennia.

We also instruct students in reading, writing and correct pronunciation through teaching the Devanagari script in which Sanskrit is written. Our classes are non-competitive and focus on the learning enjoyment of all students. In addition to our on-going beginning and intermediate classes we also offer 3-4 class intensive programs designed to give the beginning student an introduction to Sanskrit. Advanced instruction is offered in the fall and spring. Please call for details.
